Tomorrow the Bay Area Council and ZJ Future are co-hosting a Pacific Business Briefing: Global Blockchain on June 28, 2018 in Santa Clara sponsored by the North American Blockchain Association.The Briefing consists of a keynote from Nakul Lele of Deloitte followed by speaker panels of major corporations, investment firms, and innovative startups.
The last panel runs until 5:00 pm, and we'll enjoy a beer and wine reception while blockchain startups present their pitches. Nakul leads Deloitte’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications Blockchain Consulting practice, responsible for growing Deloitte’s brand and market presence, leading software alliances and ecosystem partnerships, and driving internal blockchain capability development. His 17 years of consulting experience includes advising global clients on corporate strategy, innovation and business model transformation projects. He has implemented several blockchain solutions for TMT clients addressing use cases across supply chain traceability, intercompany settlements, cross-border payments, digital rights management, etc. Nakul loves evangelizing the benefits of blockchain technology at events such as Money 20/20, Consensus, Fintech South and Deloitte’s CFO Forums.
Nakul holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Allegheny College and an M.B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.

Jorden is a Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur and investor who has founded and led 3 high-tech-focused companies over the last 17 years: an enterprise software company, a peer-to-peer decentralized infrastructure company, and a management consultancy. He raised $48M in venture capital for his own companies. He has launched a Blockchain Fund (StarChain Ventures) and is working extensively with blockchain startups in the area of strategy and ICO advisory. He's written multiple articles on blockchain and has been an invited guest speaker at Stanford, Google & CryptoMondays SF.

Shuonan Chen is a co-founder and Partner at IOVC, a US-China cross border venture capital fund focused on enterprise solutions. She is also the CEO of Shinect, the leading US-Asia non- profit community of 5,000+ entrepreneurs and engineers, with members having (co-)founded companies with a total valuation of US$2bn+. She is a Guest Lecturer at UC Berkeley and Chinese University of Hong Kong as well as Faculty at Singularity University. Prior, Shuo was at Goldman Sachs, where she worked with some of the largest technology companies in China, Korea and Southeast Asia as well as represented the firm on the Board of Women in Finance Asia. Before that, Shuo was at PwC in San Francisco and Beijing, and before that, she also ran a social enterprise for financial literacy in both San Francisco and Hong Kong.
Shuo graduated cum laude from UC Berkeley with a triple major and 2 minors in 3 years. She also completed a Juris Doctor with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where her work on financial regulation will be soon published by Cambridge University Press.

Tong Zhang is the Chief Architect for AI and Analytics in the Network Platforms Group, Intel Corporation. She leads the architecture efforts for Machine Learning and Deep Learning solutions including customer engagements towards impactful design wins. Before joining Intel, Tong was a Principal Scientist in Hewlett-Packard Labs where she led over a dozen projects related to media analytics, computer vision, machine learning and pattern recognition. She has 50 granted US patents and around 100 publications to her credit. She earned Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Dr. Jadav manages the Cloud, IoT & Systems Lifecycle Analytics department at IBM's Almaden Research Center. He received a B.E. degree from Mumbai University (India) in 1992 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees Syracuse University in 1995 and 1997, respectively, all in Computer Engineering. Dr. Jadav's research interests are in the areas of management and performance analysis of distributed and parallel systems, with an emphasis on storage.
Since joining the IBM Research in 1997, Dr. Jadav has led or contributed to innovations in several IBM products such as ServRAID adapters, XIV storage, Tivoli TotalStorage Productivity Center, GPFS, multiple Cloud offerings, Watson Agent Assist, and the IBM GTS Technical Support Appliance.
Dr. Jadav's recent work focuses in delivering productivity enhancing analytics to IBM services offerings, and designing and building end-to-end solutions at the confluence of Mobile Computing, Internet-Of-Things, and Blockchain technology. He is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology, and the recipient of multiple IBM Research Division and Outstanding Technical Achievement awards. He has published over 15 technical papers and holds over 25 patents.
Don Ho is an investor and entrepreneur with cross-functional experiences scaling investments, product, and growth globally. He leads Business at Quantstamp, the first decentralized cybersecurity platform for the blockchain. Don previously was an investor at IDG Ventures and PNP Ventures where he helped launched enterprise companies like Nexla and Ayasdi; and consumer companies such as the Los Angeles Football Club.
Erhan is a highly experienced International Executive and Entrepreneur who has demonstrated the ability to lead diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success in a variety of highly competitive industries, cutting-edge markets, and fast-paced environments and in large Fortune 500 incumbents from the US to Europe to South-Africa. He has a strong background in leadership for General Management, Sales & Marketing.
Erhan has spent long years at General Electric in early years of his career and built as General Manager from scratch for Aspect the European markets and led other US Companies and has been successful with start-up’s in Europe and in the US. He has co-founded and led as President the successful contact center SaaS Company Bright Pattern. Most recently he has lead as Chief Operating Officer the international expansion of the IoT software company N3N Inc, a Cisco investment. Currently he is building the IoT Blockchain start-up Pavocoin to launch an ICO.
Erhan attended the Bergische University in Germany, earning a Master’s in Macro and Micro Economics. He also has completed distinctive Management Programs such as the Stanford University Executive Program and GE Crotenville Academy
Terry graduated from Arizona State University with Ph.D. in computer science. He also received outstanding talents with special EB1A international contributions. During his PhD period, his research interest includes cloud computing and distributed systems, next-generation multi-hop networks and security. He has published more than 20 international research results include conference and journal articles, magazine articles, patents and textbooks. At the same time, he served as TPC reviews for more than 50 top-level conferences and journals. He has rich working experience with fortune 500 companies, including Microsft reseach asia, Deutsche Telekom Silicon Valley Research, Walmart Global E-Commerce and etc.
Dr. Terry began doing research on decentralized distributed network protocols since his master study, and designed and implemented a variety of decentralized network protocols, and published a number of international papers. He has deep understanding and research on the blockchain system architecture and consensus mechanism. He is now the CTO of UPower.

Henry Fan is the Co-founder and managing partner at Crossvine Capital, a venture capital, private equity and a global cross-border investment management firm investing in Silicon Valley technology ventures. With investors from both US and China, Crossvine invests in both early stage startups and in growth-stage companies along with global strategic partners.
Prior to that, Henry is one of the managing director of Blue Flame equity Fund, invested $75M in various assets and equities including multiple real estate acquisition and development projects in California, and achieved 22-45% return on capital.
Since early 2017, Henry is a venture partner of Stonegate Digital Fund, an multi-family and offshore fund which started as crypto focused trading fund and evolved in investment of blockchain ICO, digital token mining and exchanges.
Henry is also an executive advisor for several startups and incubators and a board member of non-profit organizations such as Chinese Software Professional Association (CSPA).
